The Bar Is So Low It’s Underground
I gave him the benefit of the doubt, and all he did was waste my time.
You know that sweet guy I mentioned previously? Well, the universe really knows how to twist the knife, because he messaged me Tuesday night. By Wednesday, he was telling me how great I was. That I was kind. That he wanted to kiss me.
We made plans for Friday. Cute, right?
But then Thursday came. Nothing.
I woke up this morning — still no text.
He told me he was going to text me, and then he just… didn’t? I’m not playing that game again. I spent years being ignored, having someone I cared about pretend I didn’t exist when they got overwhelmed or distracted or just didn’t want to deal. But if you don’t want to see me, just say that.
So I text him first. “Yeah definitely! It’s just going to be like 7:30ish.” Okay, cool. We’re still on.
Except then he says he accidentally bought the wrong (non-refundable) tickets — for tomorrow, not tonight.
